bio

Muchacho is an Indie Synthpop band from the suburbs of Florida that blends the groove and quirky vocals of 1980s New Wave with a big "wall of sound" comprised of synth riffs and chunky guitars similar to Phoenix, Bleachers and Foster the People.

The American trio's modus operandi for the group is fueled by a rambunctiously adolescent-like DIY spirit. They have self-produced their songs in their modestly tiny 120 sq ft home studio. After the burnout of their previous band, Supros, these long time collaborators have come back with a clearer vision for what they want to say as band. Singer/guitarist Jesús Núñez, percussionist Dan Farias and multi-instrumentalist Nich George have regrouped and started from where they left off.

Based between St. Pete + Ft. Myers, Florida–land of retirees and suburban strip malls–the group retreats from the mundane via their bedroom-turned-studio to write in response to their experience and pure boredom… even with a tinge of angsty escapism.

The band’s name “Muchacho” is Spanish for “young man”. Being an American band with immigrants, the play on Spanglish names felt right. Dan is Argentine. Nick is from Ohio. Jesús is Venezuelan/American. It’s a familiar yet foreign word at the same time.
